Design Spotlight Tickled Pink - A Joyful Bathroom Reno
October 4, 2022A lot of things in life bring us joy. But when joy brings us something in return, well, let’s just say we’re tickled pink.
That’s why we’re so excited to share a beautiful—and pink!—bathroom renovation by Mom and Home Decor blogger, Joy Green. Every space in Joy’s home is a reflection or her style, whether it’s her elegant kitchen, sophisticated primary bedroom or the whimsical playroom. So when it came time to design a bathroom for her young daughter, Kai, she didn’t have to look far for inspiration.
“My vision for Kai's bathroom all started with a piece of pink quartz that Kai fell in love with,” recalls Joy.
Having a pink bathroom was Kai’s only request, but Joy wanted to make sure the space could grow with her for many years to come.
For the walls, Joy chose 5”x5” Cloe ceramic tile in pink, from Bedrosians. With subtle color variation from tile to tile, Cloe delivers a “perfectly imperfect” look that adds an artisanal sensibility to the space.
“We were so inspired by the Cloe tile,” says Joy, “that we had to tie in the pink color to the floor!”
To complement the pink walls and introduce a little playfulness, Joy went with a cheerful floral pattern using 2” round Makoto porcelain tile in matte finish and a trio of colors—shoji white, momoiro blush and kouroi black. This gave the floors a new spin on the classic penny motif while adding scale and depth to the room.
Everything Joy styles turns to gold—or in this case, pink. And she reminds us every day that, no matter what, to find the joy in everything.
